A quick, refreshing drink.

  • 1 small grapefruit, peeled
  • 1/4 cup vanilla soymilk
  • 1 cup ice
  • generous squirt of agave nectar
  1. Throw all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy.

(Makes small smoothies for 2 or 1 large smoothie)

Do you have trouble with the citrus curdling the milk? Or doesn’t that happen with soy milk?

I love the colour!

We didn’t have any curdling problems. My understanding is that it’s the casein in milk that becomes curdled and soymilk does not contain casein.

Kalinda, this smoothie is delicious! I made it today after I got home from the gym. :)

I LOVE grapefruit smoothies! However once, dh asked for a drink and was splutteringly surprised. Based on the color, his tastebuds had been expecting orange or strawberry sweetness, not the sour tang of grapefruit. He doesn’t ask if he can share anymore . . .

Awesome. Looks easy to make. Would it work just as well with other kinds of fruit?

Yep. As long as you use a comparable amount of fruit, you should be good to go.
